Achievement Award Winners Announced
The Lethbridge Sport Council is pleased to announce the winners of the 6th annual Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards for their achievements and contributions to sport in Lethbridge in 2015.
The Winners are:
  • Junior Male Athlete - Coby Iwaasa (Racquetball)  
  • Junior Female Athlete - Jessica Zarowny (Basketball)
  • Senior Male Athlete (sponsored by Horns Hockey Alumni) - Nico Pasquotti (Soccer)
  • Senior Female Athlete (sponsored by Pronghorn Athletics)  Rachel Nicol (Swimming)
  • Special Olympics Athlete -  Mary Jean Lawson (Swimming)
  • Coaching Excellence - Bertil Johannson (Cross-country running)
  • Servus Credit Union Outstanding Sport Citizen - Dylan Tait (Hockey)
  • Amateur Team -  Lethbridge Bulls (Baseball)
  • Officiating Excellence -  Micheal Barwegen (Soccer)
  • Knud Petersen Spirit in Sport (sponsored by Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame) - Carol Thibert  (Multi-sport)

Winners will be formally recognized on  Tuesday April 5th, at the ENMAX Centre, Canadian Western Bank Lounge.  Doors open at 6:00 PM, program at 7:00 PM.

Southern Alberta Summer Games
Lethbridge is proud to be hosting the Southern Alberta Summer Games, July 6-9th!  If you are interested in volunteering to be on the Local Organizing Committee, please contact Eric, SASG Coordinator

High School Football Prep Program
The ASDC SW, is now accepting registration for the 2016 High School Football Prep program.  This program has been designed for athletes in grades 9 to 12, focusing the athlete on strength, conditioning, speed and agility training at the High Performance Centre. Included in the football prep program is sport vision training and mental conditioning sessions.

Inclusive Physical Literacy
Every person should have the opportunity to develop physical literacy. Program coordinators, leaders and facility operators have a responsibility to create universally accessible physical literacy opportunities. ~ S4L
Sport for Life has compiled resources and programs for parents, teachers, caregivers and sport leaders to identify best practice.

Team UP Program - Sports Package
The Hampton Inn & Suites and the Fairfield Inn & Suites
have Teamed UP to provide support for local sporting events.
Their Team UP Program offers a " Sports Package" to visiting teams, and a " Kick Back" per room night to the Local  Organizations.

BrainGym for Movement, Dance and Sport Workshop
April 7-10, 2016 (9am-6pm daily)
Lethbridge, Alberta, Nicholas Sheran Arena - Lethbridge Sport Council Community Room
This workshop will build a foundation for dynamic performance of movement through Educational Kinesiology. You will experience and learn how to apply techniques to enhance performance - used by Olympians, professionals, university, scholastic, youth and weekend athletes.
Ignite UR Spark
Ignite UR Spark is a chance for youth ages 9-18 to try new activities, sports, and hobbies here in Lethbridge.  Ignite UR Spark will be held on April 19, 2016 in the Main Pavilion at Exhibition Park.
