Have you ever wondered why we do what we do during our church services and what it all means? Here's your chance to find out!
Welcome to a periodic section of the bulletin/Thursday News where every week we will answer a parishioner's question about worship or provide extra information about the day's service or readings, history of the church, feast days, seasons, and anything else that makes us wonder. Send your questions to
Leah Romanelli.
We call the services found in the Books of Common Prayer liturgies. What we say on Sunday mornings is a liturgy. This word comes from two Greek roots (leito [public] from laos [people] + ergos [work]) meaning "the work of the people". So the liturgy is a ceremony performed by the people of a community. [

Saving Your Grand Receipts Helps
Support Youth Mission Trip
This is a slam-dunk fundraiser because we all shop at our wonderful local grocery store (some a lot more frequently than others.) The Grand Food Center (Winnetka & Glencoe) has agreed to sponsor our mission trip and you can help! Save all your receipts and place them in the labeled collection cans in the Prevost Cloister, McClain Room, Youth Ministry credenza, and church office. The Grand will give us 3% of all money spent at their store (before taxes). This will be an on-going endeavor so that we can build a base for scholarships and offset travel costs. We appreciate your support!
