Whiskey Acres Distilling Co.  opens for its second season of tours and  tastings March 18th. The only estate distillery in Illinois doing seed to spirit whiskey and vodka.  They are open Friday - Sunday from March - November.

10-16 - DeKalb County Restaurant Week Restaurant Week is making its debut in DeKalb County! More than 20 restaurants are creating a week for local and visiting foodies to celebrate dining out in the DeKalb area.  Kick-off the week on April 7 th by attending A Taste of Home Cooking at the Egyptian Theatre (info below). Dine at any of the  participating restaurants and ask for the Restaurant Week Special!  Have fun and see how much you can sample!


The Egyptian Theatre has  several BIG
 shows happening in April. This historic art deco Egyptian style theatre is a great place to enjoy an event or tour. 
 
2 -  Flashlight Tour  (Join Egyptian Theatre staff as they provide a tour of the historic theatre using just your flashlights.) 

7 - Taste of Home Cooking School  (BRAND NEW SHOW!!! During this interactive two-hour event, you'll watch a top culinary expert demonstrate ten new recipes you can easily recreate in your home.)

~ 12 -  Free Screening of "He Named Me Malala" (Free and open to the public.  Panel discussion following the documentary.)


23 - Mo Pitney (Mo Pitney was born in Cherry Valley, IL and is starting to climb the music ladder in Nashville.)

  • 13 - Taste of Spring in Sycamore (Come experience an evening dedicated to the finer things in life. Sparkling white, rich red, and, oh yes, food and desserts! Each wine course will be professionally paired with a food tasting. And pick up a few unique finds along the way)
  • 17 - Theresa Caputo Live at the NIU Convocation Center - Tickets are going fast! 



6-7 - ARTigras : Take everything you know about a traditional parade - and paint over it. This annual tradition celebrates all aspects of art in the community and Northern Illinois University. It boasts a non-traditional parade and tons of other art related activities. ARTigras has quickly become a DeKalb staple and we hope you make it a family tradition as well.
