The Jessie F. Hallett Memorial Library and the JFHML Friends Foundation are happy and proud to serve the area with 80+ active volunteers. Our Volunteers wear many hats at the JFHML. They assist the staff in helping to make our Library a vibrant community hub. Our volunteers serve on boards (both the Library and JFHML Friends Foundation have boards), write grants, help to operate the Backstreet Bookstore with sorting and other store duties, conduct assorted fundraisers throughout the years (raffles, MEGA booksales, boutiques, calendars, cartridge recycling, etc.), assist with the Summer
Reading Program and Preschool Story Hours, prepare taxes, shelve books and MORE!
We could not, would not be all that we are without their helping hands.
We take the time to appreciate our dedicated volunteers with a special evening of pampering and entertainment. In honor of National Volunteer Week & National Library Week, we set aside, Monday, April 18 from 6-9 for a special Volunteer Appreciation event to be held at the Deerstand in Deerwood.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the JFHML, we encourage you to join our Friends Foundation. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Judy Hanson, would be happy to meet with you and find the perfect fit with your skills and passion!
We are also proud to partner with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) Volunteer Services and Mike Koecheler.
What a TEAM!
We leave you this month with our favorite quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson:
