Linda Warden, Executive Director
Warden, Wesley and Cunningham
After months of preparation our 21st Women of Promise event has come and gone already. And what a wonderful night it was! The night's honoree, Darlene Wesley, shared her passionate story of struggle to reinvent herself highlighting why she is so deserving of this recognition. Cardinal Health was a gracious host in providing the gorgeous setting in which our signature event was held. With the generosity and competitive spirit (thanks to the mobile bidding system) of all of our sponsors, donors, attendees, volunteers and staff 2016 has been our most successful year in the history of this event! Thanks to all of you we have raised $247,347.50. We had a very driven Women of Promise event committee this year and I would like to thank Martha Hubbell from Huntington, committee chair, and Sara Cotter from Cardinal Health for their tireless guidance and leadership and Shawn Ireland of Fox 28's  Good Day Columbus for serving as a wonderful mistress of ceremonies. Finally, I hope you will all join me in congratulating our Development Director, Meredith Kitts, for a job very well done! With her vision and tenacity Women of Promise has reached new heights.

Women of Promise 2016
Congratulations, Darlene Wesley!
Our 2016 Woman of Promise!

Darlene came to the Center as a newly single parent, struggling to keep food on the table, and in a new city. After graduating from the Center, Darlene got a job at Sunrise Senior Living as a care manager. After a year, she decided to go back to school full time and earned her Masters' degree in Social Work at The Ohio State University.  Darlene is now a licensed social worker employed at Maryhaven. Most recently, she has been accepted in the MBA program at a local university and will start classes in the fall.
