Phase II of WorkWell KS is being put into action and we are hitting the ground running this summer! We are now scheduling workshops for the months of July-September. A regional approach is being taken this time around and we are looking for groups/communities to host workshops. These workshops will differ from Phase I workshops. They will only last a half day and are topic specific. It is an opportunity for attendees to dive deeper into the issues that are a priority for them, receive more technical assistance on how to determine what interventions would be most effective and how to apply them, and begin the development of a worksite wellness plan. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend workshops with their entire wellness committee or a team. Workshops will be offered in person or virtually. We are happy to discuss which makes the most sense for your group. The workshops that will be taking place during this time are:
1.) Foundation:
This workshop is helpful and necessary for those new to the initiative or for active participants that need help building a strong foundation for worksite wellness. We will be working through all of the necessary pieces needed to have a strong base for a successful and sustainable initiative at your worksite/organization.
**Participants will be asked to complete a foundational checklist, showing they have indeed established a worksite wellness foundation before moving onto a health priority track. **
2.) Healthy Foods:
Do you have a group of employers/organizations that have worksite wellness foundations in place, but are ready to tackle healthy foods as a priority at their site? This workshop will go through all of the interventions necessary to build a strong plan to address this health priority. It will also provide attendees examples of evidence based high level interventions such as policy and environmental changes that will create impactful and sustainable efforts at your site. Attendees will also learn how to set measurable goals and how WorkWell KS can help them monitor their progress.
Tobacco:
Do you have a group of employers/organizations that have worksite wellness foundations in place, but are ready to tackle tobacco as a priority at their site? This workshop will go through all of the interventions necessary to build a strong plan to address this health priority. It will also provide attendees examples of evidence based high level interventions such as policy and environmental changes that will create impactful and sustainable efforts at your site Attendees will also learn how to set measurable goals and how WorkWell KS can help them monitor their progress.
