Greetings Blazeman Warriors,
Friends,
The 2016 season is upon us and this is the first attempt for me to actually do the newsletter in its entirety. I have always given the written material to Kelly and Paul Fahey to lay it out...so, bear with me this year as I hopefully master the learning curve. Paul and Kelly will still be available to bail me out and I want to take this opportunity to thank them both for all the support given to me...

Requests for #179 are coming in to Ironman...always happy to know that Jon continues to inspire. Please continue to contact Ironman or the race directors of non Ironman races! Needless to say, keep me in the loop so I can share your pictures!

The BMF has recently realized that we need a more secure website so we are moving forward with our web company, The Connextion, to upgrade...stay tuned for that change.

Lately, a few non profits have come under scrutiny for excessive spending for non mission statement expenses such as salary, travel and other extravagances. It saddens us to see this happening...
We have always kept Jon's foundation a total voluntary organization...keeping expenses to a bare minimum. Donors want their contributions to go directly to the  mission statement.
A big thank you to the Energy Lab, Carrie McCoy and Phil Gormley for hosting Cycle events in support of the BMF...the monies raised is earmarked for a future ALS research project! Cycle pictures below!
This being my first solo run...I am keeping it short...hopefully I will get better with time!  Til next time...

In Strength, Honor and Freedom,
Mary Ann and Bob

P.S.  And now there are two ways you can show your support. A portion of your purchases from Amazon will go to the Blazeman Foundation. Or you can click here to make your traditional donation now!

On May 2, 2005, twenty-year Multi-Sport veteran Jon Blais a.k.a. "Blazeman" at age 33 was diagnosed with the fatal motor neuron disease ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Blazeman dubbed himself the "ALS Warrior Poet" and brought his battle to the big island of Hawaii on October 15th that year, where he became the first person with ALS to complete the Ironman World Championships. It was his last race. In 2006, a number of athletes, inspired by Jon's 2005 efforts, rolled across the finish line in Hawaii in honor of Jon and his battle against ALS. In 2007, the Blazeman Foundation for ALS expanded Team Blazeman, comprised of "Blazeman Warriors" who have committed to raising awareness and funding a search for a cure for ALS..."So  Others May Live."
