Film Screening Harrogate

A well attended evening with stimulating debate following the film, organised by the  Harrogate  Christian Aid Group.  More  

 
Our changing local climate was exemplified by the waterfall that flowed for the first time in centuries at Malham Cove this winter. Of more serious concern is the extensive flooding across the diocese , caused by the unprecedented weather. Several churches were affected and others acted as flood havens.  The DAC is now considering a flood resilience advice for churches.

Just before the Leap Day citizens from across Yorkshire came together at Leeds Civic Hall to launch the Zero Carbon Yorkshire initiative to rally people around bold policies that can transition Yorkshire off fossil fuels.

The Big Deal and Big Church Switch
Christian Aid and Tearfund have launched the Big Deal to help households switch to a renewable electricity supplier at good value through collective buying power. The Big Church Switch is similar to our own Diocesan Green Journey, which offers additional benefits for churches. 

How will our environment and attempts to tackle climate change be effected by staying in, or coming out of Europe? Bill Oddie and Stanley Johnson are patrons of the newly formed Environmentalists For Europe along with cross party parliamentary figures. More
