Walk and Roll spring
kickoff this Wednesday
After a successful launch last spring, Carrollton City Schools once again has joined Tanner Health System and a local Safe Routes to School initiative to promote Walk and Roll, an effort to draw attention to the value of walking and biking to school as alternatives to riding in cars.

With the popular Carrollton Greenbelt routed through Carrollton City Schools, advocates encourage families to start using the trail and sidewalks on campus to get to school in an effort to not only to alleviate traffic, but to encourage physical activity among our students.

This spring's kickoff celebration will be held next Wednesday, March 16, and will feature a variety of activities to jump start the day - and the program - for the rest of the school year.

* Start walking or rolling from the Hay's Mill
or  Target GreenBelt trailheads between 7:15
   and 7:30
* Meet at the celebration tent that will be set up
between CES and CMS along the Greenbelt
* Be on the lookout for free gifts
* Meet Captain Carrot, Broccoli Boy and
  Rude-a-bay Girl
* Pick up a Grab N' Go breakfast in the school
cafeteria before you head to class
* Join students and parents walking daily
through the end of the school year!

All students or student groups must be accompanied by an adult. Read this brochure to learn more.

SPECIAL NOTE: When picking up walkers and bike riders, parents are asked to please meet and sign out their children at the front side door by the bicycle racks. Teachers should be notified before 1:30 on the days your child is a walker or bike rider.
