April Storm Damage
The Small Business Administration provides low-interest, long-term disaster loans to businesses of all sizes, private, non-profit organizations, homeowners and renters to repair or replace uninsured or underinsured disaster damaged property. The SBA also offers Economic Injury Disaster loans for businesses that may or may not have sustained any damage, but have experienced a downturn in business because of the disaster.
 
This declaration is for damages received during the severe storms, straight-line winds and hail that occurred between April 11 and April 13, 2016.  The application deadline is July 12, 2016 for physical damage disaster loans, and February 13, 2017 for businesses that sustained economic injury.

Homeowners, renters, businesses and private, non-profit organizations may apply online or call the  customer service center  at 800-659-2955.


 










Bury The Lines - Approved!
Due to a collaborative effort from the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, City of Frisco, the Frisco Independent School District, Frisco commercial property owners, and the Bury the Lines team, are pleased to announce that in a 2-1 decision, the PUC has approved burying the lines for much of Main Street. They accepted the amended stipulation which has the city participating in part of the cost of burying the proposed overhead lines. There will be a short segment near 423 that will be above ground.
 
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce and the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee worked tirelessly with intervenors to help bring what we feel is the best possible solution to the overhead line issues on Main Street. On Friday, February 12, the Frisco Chamber of Commerce signed the settlement stipulation at the Chamber office.  This nearly two-year long process would not have been a success without the cooperative efforts of all involved.   Read More...

Government Affairs Committee Meeting
At our last meeting, news broke about the Dallas Cowboys being in talks with the NFL Draft. This month, Dr. Neil Matkin, District President for Collin College, will speak. We hope you plan to join us on Friday, June 10 at 10:30 AM.

Runoff Elections
Runoff Election for Frisco City Council, Place 2 and Place 4 will be June 18. Early voting is June 6 - 11 and June 13 - 14.

Free Admission for Military Families
Participating in this summer's Blue Star Museum Program, all three Presidential Libraries and Museums in Texas (Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and Museum in Austin, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, and the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas) will offer free admission to the nation's active duty military personnel, including National Guard and Reserve, and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2016.
