SEB : SOmeone just texted me and said the release codes mean the banks can now exchange, as they need release codes to release the rates that are showing on the screen.

Elmerf123456: (Late Saturday Night)  Ok. Don't know what this means but here it is: I have not spoken to my friend across the pond in 12 weeks. I don't have any idea why he was quiet, but perhaps he had a gag order. At 5pm while I was out working, I didn't notice a text message on my phone, but low and behold I got a message from him: "There is a special meeting in Iraq tomorrow at 8 am with Abadi and his finance team along with two key finance dignitaries from Beijing China."

Abadi form a committee of experts "independent" to review the biography of candidates to the government of technocrats

03/12/2016 09:10  Tomorrow Press / Baghdad: The president of the Council of Ministers, Haider al - Abadi, Saturday, composition of the Commission "independent" includes a number of experts, shall review the biographies of the candidates for the upcoming government of technocrats.
 
He said al - Abadi said in a statement received "Tomorrow Press", that " an independent panel of experts will review the CVs of the candidates to the Government of technocrats, lifting the names after the audit and review to the Prime Minister, where there will be more than one name for each bag of technocrats to choose the most efficient and then displays them on board House of Representatives. "

wmawhite  : Inside the USA $1 = $1. Inside Iraq 1 IQD = 1 IQD. A currency only has value when it is compared to another currency. It is not relevant when comparing to itself.  Let me ask this: to an Iraqi what changes with the domestic bonds if today the IQD becomes value at 1 IQD = $4.00? What changes inside Iraq with the bonds? Nothing.  

Folks, the issue that are solely internal to Iraq has very little to do with what we are waiting on.

The CBI/GOI could sell domestic bonds and receive payment in apples or gold or silver. That has nothing to do with the moving into Article 8 and the acceptance of the international financial community of the IQD. 

The bonds have nothing to do with the eventual international exchange rate of the IQD.

JustinandDeb:  Family look at the UN ROE change history for Iraq.  They have never updated on the 15th of the month all the way back...to 2006. 

I know it doesn't have an updated rate but interesting none the less, pattern broken.

Prudence12:  Re JUSTINANDDEB's spotting of the UN Operational Rates, what I found interesting is that they actually put up March 15th all the way down the column when: 

(1) new values on the 15th are statistically rare - you can spot check various currencies, and

(2) they are posting a date IN ADVANCE as placeholder. 

Why not post it on the 14th, which is not a holiday?  Why in advance?
