What are you hoping the New Year will bring for you?
A new job? A new car? A new love? A new vacation destination?
Unfortunately for many of our local and global friends and family, the New Year will be bringing life-threatening challenges such as hunger, poverty, disease, homelessness, oppression, and even death due to persecution, terrorism and war.
This past year has been devastating for many of our friends and neighbors here and around the world. Thousands of
Syrian refugees fleeing civil war and ISIS are being denied access to safety. Our
friends in Paris lost their lives, limbs and hope for a safe future.
The Ebola crisis in West Africa claimed over 5,000 lives.
Gays and lesbians in Uganda are continuing to be persecuted, even imprisoned, since that country's president signed into law the Anti-Homosexuality Act. And thousands of
children are living in abject poverty around the world, across our border with Mexico, and in urban cities in the U.S.

Since 2000, RWF has been working in the LGBT community to raise awareness of and funds for domestic and international humanitarian causes, providing over $4.1 million in direct relief to some of the world's most vulnerable people. Our humanitarian aid includes financial grants, food, water, medicine, medical equipment, and art and school supplies.
RWF's work enables caring people like you to participate in the global community by donating and volunteering to
help both LGBT and non-LGBT people affected by natural disasters, hunger, poverty, disease, oppression and war.Through your financial support, RWF efforts have shown our world neighbors that LGBT people are engaged and positively contributing to the world.
As these situations in inner cities, Paris, Syria, Uganda, the Ukraine, West Africa, and Uganda illustrate, there is still a great need for your help.

With your support, RWF is helping LGBT refugees in Africa and the Middle East fleeing terrorism and violence.
