CONROE NAMED ORSANCO CHAIRMAN

e Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) has elected Douglas Conroe, Maple Springs, New York, as its chairman. He assumes office on July 1.
Douglas Conroe is the Executive Director of the Chautauqua Lake Association, a not-for-profit organization in Lakewood, New York. Conroe previously served as a board member and President at the Chautauqua Lake Association.
Prior to serving as Executive Director, Conroe was the Director of Operations for the Chautauqua Institution, a not-for-profit educational center beside Chautauqua Lake in southwestern New York. Conroe retired from the Chautauqua Institution after 30 years in multiple management positions.
Conroe holds numerous community service appointments including Chairman of the Chautauqua County Environmental Management Council, Fire Chief of the Maple Springs Fire Company and Board Member of the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy.
Appointed to the Commission in 1991, Conroe has served the Commission as chairman during 2001-2002.
Other elected officers include: Ron Lovan (Kentucky Commissioner) as vice-chair and Stuart Bruny (Ohio Commissioner) as secretary-treasurer. Lovan is the Director of Northern Kentucky Water District. Bruny is retired from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
