LICKING COUNTY CONTINUES TO ACHIEVE RECORD LEVELS OF EMPLOYMENT, CIVILIAN LABOR FORCE ENGAGEMENT |

Data from the Ohio Bureau of Labor Market Information reaffirms the strength of our local economy and the labor market that helps fuel it. The most recent reports reveal that, for the first eight months of 2015, Licking County continues to record historic levels of Total Employment. July and August represent the highest numbers of Licking Countians employed since at least January 1970, with 85,100 and 84,800 resident employed, respectively, in those months.
The highest levels of employment reported for our county since 1970 are the first eight months of 2015!
Similarly, the Civilian Labor Force data for 2015's first eight months represents historically positive results.
Eight of the ten highest levels of Total Civilian Labor Force ever reported were achieved in the first eight months of this year!
July's figures reflected
89,000
Licking County residents actively participating in the labor force - the highest level ever reached.
Licking County's monthly unemployment is down over 600 people, on average, versus the same period last year! Even with these continued encouraging numbers being posted,
employers can still draw from a regional pool of over 50,000 available workers!
These figures, more than many other sets of data, speak directly to the strength of our local economy and workforce. They reflect both the strength and growth of local employers (Total Employment), as well as the quality and work ethic of our community's residents (Civilian Labor Force). The fact that both figures continue to be at historic levels speaks to the many strong employers, successful collaborations, and growth opportunities available in Licking County.
