Tournament

Dear Chess Enthusiasts,

As we approach the end of the school year, we look forward to the great weather. That's why our outdoor chess tournaments at Bryant Park are so popular.

Come join us at The Fountain Plaza at one of New York City's most beautiful and well known parks.

This year, in addition to the Under 1800 section, we have added a new section for players Under 2200.  The prize schedule for both sections remains the same with 80% of entry fees returned as prizes!  Both sections are open to Adults as well.

The park is conveniently located  on West 42nd Street and 6th Ave close to all forms of public transportation.

Just to remind you of our lengthened time controls for the higher sections:

While Novice and Elementary sections remain G/30, the Reserve U 800 section is G/40.
Advanced U 1000 and Championship U1400 sections are both G/45.  And the U 1800 and U 2200 sections are only 3 rounds each but G/60.   All sections 5 minutes less when using 5 second time delay.

Our Beginner section (K-1) is unrated by the US Chess Federation.  Any players participating in the Beginner section do not have to pay USCF dues and do not need to be a USCF member. CXR ratings are no longer used.  Clocks will not be used in this section and it is not necessary to notate either.

All other sections will remain USCF rated as always.

We have over 100 giant awards to give away, so come join us for a good time on June 12th!

Hope to see you there.
