Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Schedule your screening today
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a chance to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Spread the word about mammograms and encourage communities, organizations, families, and individuals to get involved.
The good news is that many women can survive breast cancer if it's found and treated early. A mammogram - the screening test for breast cancer - can help find breast cancer early when it's easier to treat.
*Coming Soon: Quincy Medical Group will offer the latest technology for detecting breast cancer.  3D Mammography arrives October 21.
Contact the Imaging Center to schedule your mammogram today:

Falls Prevention Awareness Day
Take a Stand to Prevent Falls on Sept. 23
While falls are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injury for people 65 years of age and older - they are not an inevitable part of aging.
Yet every 13 seconds, an older adult is seen in an emergency department for a fall-related injury. Many of these falls are preventable, and as healthcare providers, we can help.
Call our PT department at 217-222-6550, ext. 3284 to schedule an appointment with a fall prevention specialist.
Sports Eye Injury Awareness
Understanding the risks
* More than 600,000 eye injuries related to sports and recreation occur each year. 42,000 of these injuries are of a severity that requires Emergency Room attention.
* More than 90% of all eye injuries can be prevented with the use of appropriate protective eyewear.
* The American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Optometric Association all strongly recommend protective eyewear for all participants in sports in which there is a risk of eye injury.
Stop by the Optical Shop inside Quincy Medical Group or HQ Eyes in Hannibal to check out our selection of sport goggles for kids & adults.
