The Silver Platter Foundation

The Silver Platter Foundation is excited to be participating in this year's Purim Carnival!

In keeping with the theme of giving, we would like to have the children make no-sew, fleece blankets that we will donate to cancer patients. While we will try to keep the cost of supplies to $50, we may need up to $100 in order to have enough blankets to keep all of the students busy enough. Our goal is to make 10 blankets.

The Silver Platter Foundation provides goods and services to families affected by adult blood cancers with children living at home.

This organization was founded by Ridgefield resident and Temple B'nai Chaim member Rachel Langberg to celebrate the life of her sister Hillary Silver, who bravely lived with multiple myeloma for nine years. She lost her battle in 2015.

Please vis it SilverPlatterFoundation.org to learn more and to  make a tax-deductible donation.
A Note from our Israeli Emissary
Please Bring in Candy for Israeli Soldiers Shallach Manot bags!
Hi! I'm the Israeli emissary, Shaked Nisani. I come to Temple B'nai Chaim to teach the kids about Israel.

In Israel, we have a tradition of sending Mishloach Manot (a big bag of treats) to Israeli IDF soldiers. I will have a booth at the Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 20th, and at the booth, the kids will make cards to send to Israeli soldiers.

We would like each student to bring treats (wrapped American candy) for the Israeli soldiers for the Mishloach Manot bags.

We will be collecting the candy from Sunday, March 6th through Sunday, March 20th. Thank you!!

Purim is Coming!

In the book of Esther , two of the mitzvot that are associated with Purim are the sending of gifts of food and the giving of tzedakah.  In verse 9:22 of the book of Esther it says: "[Mordechai wrote to the Jews] to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor."

At TBC, we combine these 2 mitzvot into our Shalach Manot fundraiser, a fun way to support TBC by sending gifts to friends, as well as TBC clergy, staff, teachers and tutors.  Please join us in celebrating Purim through this annual tradition!

Each Shalach Manot bag will be filled with festive food and other items to create a fun Purim celebration at home.
- Bags for TBC members are $11
- Bags for TBC clergy, staff, teachers and tutors are $9
- Bags for non-TBC members are $15 and must be delivered by you

If a TBC member, clergy, staff, teacher or tutor has been chosen by more than one friend, they will receive one bag with a note listing all the donors.

To order your Shalach Manot, click here. In the form, you will have the opportunity to reciprocate, which means that we will send a bag on your behalf to anyone that sends to you.

Thanks for your support of TBC!
