Meet the Pier Approach Design Team: Jason Jensen
The design team for St. Petersburg's New Pier is a partnership between ASD Architects, Rogers Partners Architects + Urban Designers and Ken Smith Landscape Architects. To help the community get to know the people behind our new Pier, we are posting periodic videos of several team members. The newest video is of Jason Jensen, Project Architect and Community Liaison for the Pier Approach. 

Jason Jensen, AIA, LEED AP, community liaison and project architect is a principal with Wannemacher Jensen Architects. Jason has been recognized with the Dean Rowe Award, The Garcia Award, UF Young Architects Award and over 20 other Design Awards. He has an experiential approach to architecture and lighting creating unique opportunities to engage the environment and landscape.  His recent work includes Lights On Tampa, The Madeira Beach Municipal Complex, Sims Waterfront Park in New Port Richey, Legacy Park & Recreation Center in Doral, Florida, and Largo Community Center.

  • Pier - design development phase 
  • Pier Approach design concepts finalized and schematic design begins
Summer/Fall, 2016
  • Pier permitting and construction document; tenant selection process begins
  • Approve Pier Operator contract 
  • Public Outreach 
Fall 2016
  • Pier - construction documents complete
End of 2016
  • Pier - permitting complete
Early 2017
  • GMP - Guaranteed Maximum Price complete and submit for approval 
  • Pier - Groundbreaking; begin Pier construction over water
