Babies, and bagels, and blessings, oh my!  Join us on the second Saturday of every month for a Shabbat experience geared towards families with children ages 0-30 months.  Little ones will enjoy a service full of Shabbat songs, Torah studies, and parachute play!  Kiddush, motzi, and a bagel oneg sponsored by Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood will follow this fun-filled program.  This is a great opportunity for parents of young children to meet and form groups with their peers!

Minyan, Tea & Torah

The Tea and Torah program includes study of the week's Torah portion over tea and noshes.  Utilized are commentaries reflecting a variety of perspectives.  Open and welcome to all who would like to learn about the history, thought process, and fast evolving freedom of expression, from a contemporary Reform Judaism approach. This week, Tea & Torah is preceded by our Shabbat Morning Minyan study with our Gimel Hebrew Students.

Bring your apron and rolling pin and join Sisterhood members and Religious School families as we roll, fill, and pinch to shape and bake those wonderful Purim treats - hamantaschen! These cookies will be given to Religious School students in class and the remainder will be sold at the Purim Carnival.  Proceeds will go towards Sisterhood's support of Religious School programs. If you can't make it but still want to support the project, you can donate your own baked hamantaschen to the sale.  (Last year we even received some gluten-free cookies that were much appreciated!).  Please RSVP to Melenie Pearson at [email protected] or (408) 506-7253.

The perfect way to teach your children about Shabbat!  Led by Rabbi Magat and Cantor Meeka Simerly, families with young children will enjoy upbeat songs, a short story, and a talk with the Rabbi on the bimah.  All are welcome to these brief services on the third Friday of each month, starting at 6:00 PM. Stay after services and enjoy a delicious dinner provided by Sisterhood, of course at no charge!

Members of the former San Jose chapter of Hadassah will be joined by members of the local Sharone and Villages chapters to participate in our Shabbat Services.  We will honor the past glory of Temple Emanu-El as a Hadassah supporter, as well as its present and future in our region.
