Empowering Cemetery & Funeral Service Suppliers

Introducing IMSA President Jeff Hodes

One cannot start a new year without remembering and reflecting on the past.  As an association we need to thank Anthony Kaniuk for his many years on IMSA's Board and for his leadership the last two years as President.  We can be glad he will be with us as Immediate Past President.  We also must thank Gary Forston for his many years of leadership in addition to donating IMSA's booth and Kathy Leherz's assistance to IMSA.

After reflecting, we welcome the new.  Three new Board members have been elected:  Marc Pelchat, Seljan Company; Linda Darby-Dowens, Trigard and Jordan Yearsley with Ensure-A-Seal.

In our association's vision statement, " we are here to empower cemetery and funeral service suppliers to become more viable in funeral service profession and community."  These new Board members are valuable assets as we continue to work within IMSA's vision today and strategic planning for IMSA's future.

Finally, I hope that all of you had a positive experience and attained your objectives at the ICCFA convention in New Orleans.  A recent news release from ICCFA stated that there were 959 business representative of which 35% were owners and 48% were managers representing 18 countries.  I wish you plenty of new business obtained from these opportunities.

  Jeff Hodes

2017 ICCFA CONVENTION TO RELOCATE

In light of the current legislative controversy in the state of North Carolina, the City of Charlotte contacted the ICCFA with an offer to reschedule the ICCFA Annual Convention & Expo from 2017 to 2019. The Charlotte Convention Center understands that there is a potential adverse impact on attendance for the 2017 convention due to the controversy. As a result, the ICCFA leadership has accepted the guidance of the City and is rescheduling its convention and trade show to 2019 in Charlotte. The Association is reviewing a number of meeting destinations for the 2017 Annual Convention & Expo.

Commenting on the change in venue for the 2017 convention, ICCFA President Michael R. Uselton, CCFE, observed, "I see this move as a win/win situation for everyone. We appreciate the concern the City of Charlotte has shown regarding the importance for the ICCFA to have the most successful meeting and trade show possible. We look forward to holding our 2019 Convention in Charlotte. We will announce our new city for 2017 as soon as we have secured it."
