Dr. Katherine E. Hyatt named Dean of McCamish School of Business

Dr. Katherine E. Hyatt, associate professor of business at Reinhardt since 2008, has been named Dean of the McCamish School of Business effective July 1.

Hyatt will continue teaching in the MBA program on topics like business ethics, management, leadership and personal finance. 

Hyatt's teaching does not stop in the classroom. She is known as a leader in service-learning projects and as faculty advisor for the Phi Beta Lambda honor society. ... Read More
New food service company to serve Reinhardt for the 2016-17 school year

Students, faculty and staff returning to Reinhardt University after the summer break will have something newer and fresher to feed their appetites 

Reinhardt has contracted with Metz Culinary Management to provide food service at all campus meal venues beginning this fall.
 
"We are looking to improve food quality and service at our currently published meal plan price," said David Leopard, vice president for finance and administration. 

Next summer, a project to expand the Gordy Dining Hall will be underway with completion expected by Fall 2017.  ... Read More

Friends before Presidents: Bond remains strong

It might have been a competition on the softball field beneath the spring sun May 17, but the presidents of Reinhardt University and Huntington University used the time to support their student-athletes and catch up.

Dr. Kina Mallard, president of Reinhardt, and Dr. Sherilyn Emberton, president of Huntington, have been friends for 10 years - they met when they were in similar roles at other Christian colleges. Dr. Mallard was provost of Carson-Newman University, and Dr. Emberton was provost of Lincoln Memorial University, which only are about an hour apart in Tennessee. ... Read More

RU to offer musical theatre camp for high school students in July

Reinhardt University's School of Performing Arts faculty will host a musical theatre summer camp for rising high school freshmen through recent high school graduates in July.

In its first year, the camp is geared at providing collegiate level training to those interested in the performing arts. The camp, led by music instructor Brian Osborne, will include training in vocals and acting, with a final cabaret performance at the Falany Performing Arts Center. ... Read More

Reinhardt University's Coach Bill Popp, shown here with President Mallard and Board of Trustees Chair, Billy Hasty, has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year for the second time in the past four years.
