Best all around printer for the price and average home use I've seen. I got one a couple weeks ago for $120 delivered to replace an earlier model (c1660 model) I bought about three years ago. The
generic cartridges run around $29 per set. Cheaper if you just need just one of the four colors. The software is crap but you don't even need to load it. Color print quality is outstanding. People even remark about it. I think the thing that damaged my old one was printing thick DVD labels without changing the paper thickness setting on the printer. Most people don't even use it for that. The old one was on sale for $100 so it cost me about $30 per year even though it broke through my misuse.
See the
PC Magazine review. Their editors choice was the
Samsung CLP-415NW but I don't see any
decent priced generic cartridges sold for that model and there's little difference in the pages each produce. When you factor that in, the cost per page for the Samsung compared to the Dell has to be through the roof.
