Thank you coaches -
Annie Colson, Danika Houde, Morgan Habel, Nicole Bendt, and Debby Rickey for mentoring these wonderful group of young ladies.
Dear Billings Christian parents, grandparents, & friends;

Thank you for your support of our school. Your advocacy makes it possible for us to offer an excellent education through God's Word to 300 students this year. Our students are amazing and give us reason to be grateful every day.  Kate Colson, an 8th grade student,  won the Yellowstone County Spelling Bee last Saturday. Please pray for her as she competes for the State title on March 19th.

We have begun the re-accreditation process that takes place every five years and are looking forward to gaining insight that ACSI gives. This endeavor has paid huge dividends to our students by improving every faucet of our school as we continue to grow in our ability to deliver a high level of education. If anyone is interested in being part of this very important work by serving on a team, please contact me at the school office or by email.

Thank you for your support and your continued prayers,

Diann Floth, Director of Operations
SPELLING BEE  SPOTLIGHT
On Tuesday, February 2, BCS revived the school spelling bee program with its first Spelling Bee in quite a few years.  This year's contestants, from grades 5-8, were Kate Colson (8), Emma Meissner (6), Luke Peterson (8), Alecia Rockroads (8), Morgan Tieszen (5), Ryan Wagner (6), and Nathan Wylie (6).
After 21 rounds of competition, Kate Colson won by correctly spelling "median" and "tropical."  Luke Peterson was the runner-up.
Congratulations to all of our contestants and their courageous efforts.  Special thanks to our judges, Mrs. Floth, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Stonehocker, and to Miss Wall for helping with the sound system.
A BIG THANK YOU to Mrs. Lund for organizing and prepping the students!

Congratulations to Kate Colson for winning the Yellowstone County Spelling Bee on March 5!

http://www.billingschristianschool.org/what-is-acsi-accreditation/

Mr.  Paul Waggoner-Principal
Billings Christian School was accredited in 2012. Every 5 years we need to update our documentation for ACSI. We will begin going through the re-evaluation process to update/continue our accreditation status with both ACSI and AdvancED, our two accrediting bodies.

I believe that accreditation is important for our school as a whole for the following reasons:

1. Accreditation enhances the reputation and respect for other public and private schools.

2. It provides a reliable basis for a high school graduate to obtain admission to colleges and universities by way of an actual diploma and not a GED.

3. Transferring into and out of an accredited school is much smoother.

4. Accreditation provides current and potential parents with the assurance that BCS is providing their children with an academic program that has been evaluated and met/meets the accepted standards established by accreditation institutions.

5. This vehicle provides assurance to the community that the administration, faculty, curriculum, facilities, and programs at our school meet the national standards.

We are in the beginning stages of forming committees of board members, faculty, staff, parents and other interested stakeholders in BCS. It is well known that good organization and proper staffing of committees is essential for the accreditation process to go smoothly and efficiently. If you are interested in being a part of this endeavor, please contact Diann Floth at the school office, 656-9484. If you are not able to physically help, we covet your prayers, as always, as we go through this process.
