SIX EARN CFM STATUS AT SPRING PLAYING ABILITY TEST
Mother Nauture presented a variety of cold temperatures and torrential rain throughout the past two  days at Riverway Golf Course, but that wasn't enough to stop six applicants from achieving Class "A" and Candidate for Membership (CFM) Playing Ability Test standards at the 2016 PGA of BC Spring Playing Ability Test in Burnaby, BC. 

Congratulations to the following who achieved the Class "A" Standard Scores (156):
Hall, Keenan (Kelowna Golf & Country Club) 74-77= 151
Pilon, Jake (Victoria Golf Club) 76-80=156

Introduced in 2015, the PGA of Canada implemented a new procedure to the Playing Ability Test standards where a Candidate for Membership pass score was put in place in order to allow prospective members the opportunity to become CFMs with the PGA of Canada, and begin their extensive education with the Association.

EDUCATION SERIES #3 A SUCCESS IN THE INTERIOR
With 33 guests in attendance at the Interior instalment of the 2016 Education Series, the PGA of BC is incredibly pleased with the increased dedication to professional development this year. This session's speakers delivered presentations on topics ranging from nutrition, to customer service, to launch monitors.

WELCOME RUSSELL MACKAY
The PGA of British Columbia Administration Office is pleased to welcome Russell MacKay as its new Membership & Events Manager.
 
Russell joins the PGA of BC team from Ontario where he worked as the Operations Coordinator for Professional Championships at Golf Canada since 2014, assisting in the execution of both the RBC Canadian Open and the Canadian Pacific Women's Open, including the 2015 tournament at The Vancouver Golf Club. Prior to this position, he worked through the ranks of Intern to Tournament Director with Golf Canada's Amateur Championships department, beginning in 2009.

Russell is a University of Waterloo graduate where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Sport Business. Members have options on payment plans for their Annual Dues. The two most common ways are to contact Darcy Kral at the National Office by email at darcy@pgaofcanada.com or by phone 1.800.782.5764 to set up a prepaid invoice. Alternatively, you are able to set up reoccurring online banking payments with most major Canadian banks in your desired increments. All that is required is to setup the PGA of Canada as the payee and reference your PGA of Canada Membership ID.
FACILITY REGISTRATION FOR CANUCKS JUNIOR GOLF WEEK NOW OPEN TO ALL PGA OF BC FACILITIES
Following another successful Canucks Junior Golf Week in 2015, the PGA of BC is proud to announce the continued partnership with the Vancouver Canucks for this program in 2016.   
 
Over 1,150 new golfers were introduced to the game at over 55 facilities throughout British Columbia over the first two years of the program, and we look forward to continuing to build on this terrific initiative.
 
Facility registration is now open for those that are interested in hosting golf camps for junior golfers this year. The program will allow facilities to choose up to two days during the week of July 4-11 where they would host elementary golf camps to the 60,000 potential junior golfers through BC Minor Hockey.
 
Should you be interested in participating, please fill out the Facility Registration Form by clicking here . The deadline to register is Tuesday March 22nd . A formal announcement by the Vancouver Canucks to BC Minor Hockey will follow shortly after to formally open registration for participants.
PGA OF CANADA RE-LAUNCHES MEMBER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (MAP)
The PGA of Canada announced today the re-launch of the Member Assistance Program (MAP) as part of the Association's Member Benefits.

The Association's MAP services will be provided by Family Services Employee Assistance Programs (fseap), an experienced national provider with a background in not -for-profit organizations and member-based associations.

fseap provides PGA of Canada members (and eligible family members) with access to free, professional and confidential counselling, coaching and consulting services. These services can help you manage personal, family, or work-related concerns.
