Dear (Contact First Name),

Welcome to the Platinum Pro Community where we send out quarterly newsletters with special promotions just for our customers.  This quarter we would like to introduce you, if you don't already know, to our state supplements.  Platinum offers state supplement courses in all states where state taxes are filed.  Isn't it time to consider brushing up your tax preparation skills with these five-hour state courses?  Platinum is offering all state supplements at 50% off the normal price of $18.00, that's only $9.00!

In addition, we will be offering 50% off any one of our courses!  This includes our Enrolled Agent Exam Review Courses, as well as our IRS Tax Return Preparer Prep Course, if you know any friends looking to become a tax  preparer. Offer valid for one day only, Sunday 6pm to Monday 6pm, PST.

Use promo code  LETSDOTHIS at checkout to receive the discount.  P lease see below for details of this promotion.

As a reminder,  t he IRS has begun allowing continuing education credit for each part of the Enrolled Agent Exam Review Course. This is a great time to think about becoming an Enrolled Agent.  Our review courses are now approved by the IRS to receive a total of 12 continuing education credits for all three parts. Please see Enrolled Agents News below.  The exam is given each year from May 1st until February 28th.

Also, the 18 hour IRS continuing education with Annual Federal Refresher course (10 hours federal law, two hours ethics and six hours annual federal refresher) will be available for purchase starting June 1st as well as just the 6 hour Annual Federal Refresher course.  You can, however, get started early and take advantage of our special promotion by purchasing the 10 hour federal law and two hour ethics course separately, and when the six hour AFTRC comes out on June 1st, purchase it at that time.

Lastly, there is some confusion in regards to Maryland, New York, and California tax preparers and whether you need to register with that particular state.  Please see below for an explanation as to when you need to register with that state.

Wishing you all a successful tax season!

Did you know that if you are preparing a New York state return (not federal) you must be registered in the state of New York, whether you are a New York resident or not?

For California returns you do not need to register with CTEC, unless you are a resident of California, this also applies in the state of Maryland.
