Well it's November and summer is over, but you wouldn't know it by the way the temperature was last week in the Northeast. We just fell back an hour to Standard time. Did you change the batteries in your smoke detectors? Make sure that this important safety item is protecting your home by changing the batteries at least once per year. You'll also save the aggravation of hearing that incredibly annoying, low battery beep at 3 o'clock in the morning.

You may have recently heard or received an email about McAfee email Security and Continuity and email Encryption going end of life. Don't be misled by emails from third parties implying that your current subscription will stop working or updates will not continue and offering a replacement solution. These companies don't know your environment and aren't in a position to suggest a replacement that protects your best interests in terms of function and value so it's best to rely on input from Real Time.
The facts are that, monthly subscriptions of McAfee email Security and Continuity and email Encryption will continue to renew up till the End of Life date, January 11, 2017, including updates for anti-malware and spam.
If you are using these products, don't worry. Real Time is already reviewing which of several possible replacement solutions provides the best value for our clients. Rest assured that Real Time will provide you with replacement options before your subscription expires.

Business Continuity Tip
Looking Ahead to Winter
NOAA has released its 2015-2016 winter weather predictions. In summary, the report predicts the Southern portion of the US to be wetter and colder while the North should see warmer and drier conditions.
But as far as snow fall, forecasters are still unable to predict the time and severity of such systems. However, considering this years El Niño in addition to other seasonal factors at play, weather experts agree that the following scenarios are not out of the question:
- California expected to get much needed mountain snow, which will help fill reservoirs for spring.
- Texas up through the Appalachians could see significant snow fall.
- Great Lakes area will see less lake-effect snow.
- Interior Northwest will see little snow fall which could prolong drought.
Above all, forecasters are urging Americans to take these winter weather predictions with a grain of salt. Remember, it only takes one system to throw the forecast off balance.
