Join us on Fridays at 11:00 for this joyful music program. Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome to sing, dance, and play instruments.

LEGOs will be available all day for creative fun and Gordon Lubbers, owner of Bricks 4 Kidz®, will be here from 10:00-2:00 with special architect/engineer designed Lego sets with instruction.
 
 
Boredom Busters

We will offer board and card games, building challenges, crafts, and snacks. Come meet old friends and make new ones. Stock up on books and DVDs for the week and you won't be hearing, "Mom (or Dad), there's nothing to do!!!!"
Mad Science

Tuesday, February 23, 10:30-11:30
Lecture Hall

A fun, zany, and entertaining Mad Scientist will be teaching us about that much misunderstood state of matter: gas!  Volunteers from the audience attempt to pull apart the Madgeburg sphere, launch a hot air balloon, and use Papa vortex to put out a     candelabrum. This event concludes with a ride on the Mad Science Hovercraft for a lucky volunteer! 

Drop-In Story time

Star Wars Movie Marathon

We can't get enough Star Wars and bet you can't too! Spend the afternoon in a galaxy far, far away. New Hope will begin at 1:00, Empire Strikes Back at 3:15, and Return of the Jedi at 5:30. Popcorn and refreshments will be served!
 


STEMbassadors from UNH

Thursday, February 25, 1:00-2:00
Lecture Hall

Students from the UNH College of Engineering and Physical Sciences will lead two STEM   related classes. Students in grades 4 and 5 will be challenged to create a theme park ride using various materials, and students in grades 6 and 7 will experiment with buoyancy by designing a tinfoil boat that holds the most weight. Each class is  limited to 20 students so sign-up is required and will begin on Tuesday, February 9. Please see website library.dover.nh.gov for more details. 
Wildlife Encounters

Friday, February 26, 2:00-3:00
Lecture Hall 

Come get up close and personal with some really exotic animals. The educators from Wildlife Encounters in Rochester, NH will bring a variety of animal ambassadors; some with scales, some with fur, and some with wings. We will learn all about these amazing creatures and even get interactive with a few. Don't miss this wild time at the library.
 
Story Times
 
The next 6-week session will begin the week of March 7th .  Registration (by phone, in person, or online) is required for "Mother Goose on the Loose" and "Toddler" groups only. Registration for these groups begins on Monday, February 29 @ 9:00am.

Artistic Happenings

Creation Station
  Children of all ages are invited to make an owl stick puppet anytime during the week of February 7-13.
Children of all ages are invited to make a "Thinking Cap" at the Creation Station anytime during the week of February 20-27 . All materials will be provided.
