Students Learn in Memory of Noah Seidenfeld z''l

In commemoration today of Taanit Esther, Middle School students were paired with younger students to learn together in small groups in loving memory of our former student, Noah Seidenfeld, z"l. Third Graders learned with Sixth Graders, Fourth Graders learned with Seventh Graders and Fifth Graders learned with Eighth Graders about overcoming fear and concepts from Megillah Esther. Phyllis Seidenfeld, Noah's mother, spoke to the students and they watched a video about Purim by Charlie Harary. May all the learning be chizuk for us all and a zechut to Noah's neshama.

Parnes Hayom

Friday, March 18 / 8 Adar II was sponsored by Shira and Dr. Howard Forman in memory of Howard's father, Arthur Joel Forman, Shalom Chaim Alter Yechiel ben Leib on his yahrtzeit, grandfather of Eli Forman (Buds B). May his neshama have an aliyah.

Parnes Hayom is an opportunity to dedicate a day, week or month of Torah study at Yeshivat Noam. Sponsorships may be in honor of a special individual or occasion, in memory of a dear friend or loved one, a birth, annniversary, birthday, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, graduation, wedding, or yahrtzeit. Parnes Hayom is also a meaningful way to pray for a refuah sheleimah, or mark any other significant milestone.

Community Announcements

Dear Teach NJS Partner,

Please urge Governor Chris Christie  to give all students the same state funding for security, nursing aid, technology and textbooks in his fiscal 2016-17 budget, regardless of what kind of school they attend.

Increased state funding for our children's education and services is possible, and necessary to mitigate the day school tuition crisis.

Currently, each non-public school student receives only $198 from the State of New Jersey for educational programs and services, which is far below the $20,000 average cost to New Jersey taxpayers for each public school student. The funding that the state has budgeted for fiscal year 2015-2016 doesn't provide children who don't go to public schools the basic services necessary for our children to succeed, including adequate security during these very dangerous times.

Our children's safety and basic learning tools are no less important than those who attend public school. There should be no difference in the security and services funding they receive.

To effectively advocate for this legislation, we need EVERY member of our community to take two minutes to send an email to Governor Christie.

These two minutes could help bring in millions of dollars of much needed services and equipment to our schools.

Please don't miss this opportunity to make a difference. We do not need hundreds of emails. We need thousands of emails. Only as a confident, determined group can we make this happen.

Please forward this email to your friends, your fellow school parents and your shul members. The success that we can achieve by working TOGETHER over the next two weeks is crucial for both our schools and our children.

Thank you,
