Mission and Outreach

Care of Creation - An Eastertide Invitation

On Maundy Thursday, we gathered with one another and around the communion table to remember Jesus' commandment that we are to love one another.  During Eastertide, we remember that this commandment embraces not just humanity, but humanity's relationship with the natural world.  We are to love all of creation and to join with God in working to heal that which is hurting.  Stay tuned for educational, service, and worship opportunities in the weeks to come to live ever more fully into Jesus commandment to love. Our first opportunity will be at this Wednesday's book group where we will be reading the poetry of poet-environmentalist,
Wendell Berry.

Worship and Music
S unday Service, April 3, 10:00 a.m.

The Rev. Enid Watson will be leading worship while many of us UCWers are away on the all-church retreat (including ministerial intern, Amy Clark Feldman and Pastor Stacy).  Communion will not be celebrated this Sunday.  Instead we will celebrate communion when we are all together again on Sunday, April 10th.

Fellowship
March Book Group
This Wednesday, March 30, 7:00 p.m.

We will be discussing the poetry of Wendell Berry, poet-environmentalist.  A contemporary American poet who believes in the Gospel, and the sacredness of the land, Wendell Berry reflects in his poetry and prose his love for God's creation and the care of the soul.
