March 19- No Carolina March 29-Los Angeles CA

The Tryon Children's Festival (Super Saturday) in NC was a great place to take our reinvented shorter version of Louise Reichlin/Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers"The Patchwork Girl of Oz". Below is an audience participation section of the Hoppers during the show, and a photo of the Patchwork Girl (Coree) and the Tin Man (Tai) getting a lift to the start of the parade.
We will be performing the dance/multimedia/narrated family work based on the L. Frank Baum book here in Los Angeles at the Mark Taper Auditorium, Los Angeles Central Library, for a free performance this Saturday. The piece was originally inspired by an exhibit at Central Library in 2000, which celebrated the 100th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz.
But we hit a snag...As we were clicking our "friends" to send invites, Facebook came out with an unfamiliar statement - NO MASS INVITES! In fact, the only way to invite you to the event is to give you this
URL for the event. Please click on it and let us know in you are interested and if you can attend. It's FREE, and the venue will be perfect for this fable. We were presented by them last year with "The Better To Bite You With", also in their Saturday Children's Series.

Adapted from the original children's classic by L. Frank Baum, creator of "The Wizard of Oz", the dance/multimedia work The Patchwork Girl of Oz has packed houses in 7 states. The magical, modern-day fable brings to life the adventures of Ojo as he goes on a quest to bring his uncle, who has been turned into marble, back to life. Along the way he makes new friends, including the marvelously contemporary Patchwork Girl, and learns the importance of working together as part of a community. The multi-ethnic cast performs ten fantastical dances, woven together with multimedia, music, and narration that help tell the story. Although the original book was written in 1913, its values, emphasizing cooperation, family, friendship, forgiveness, respect for all life and ultimately self-reliance, are still important more than 100 years later.
