From Rabbi Bearman: "This week [March 11], we conclude the book of Exodus and move to everyone's favorite book of the bible, Leviticus! Tomorrow morning, we'll hear the final paragraphs of the final chapter of Exodus chanted by not one but two young men as they celebrate their transitions to Jewish adulthood. One of my weekly responsibilities is rolling the Torah so that when our students step up to the podium Saturday morning and look at the scroll, they are met with the correct text." Purim Service and Megillah Reading This Friday!

Come ready for Purim! Costumes, masks and crowns are encouraged!
And ... Megillah Reading. Volunteers will bring parts of the Megillat Esther to life! TBC members will lend their voices, accents (both real and temporary), and musical talents to our retelling of Queen Esther's story!

Make Your Reservations Now for TBC's Community Passover Seder, April 23 

This year TBC will again welcome members and guests to a Community Passover Seder on Saturday, April 23rd (Second Night of Passover). The doors open at 5:30 pm, the Seder begins at 6:00 pm. This will be a great opportunity to meet together with congregants and friends and strengthen our community. This event is open to all, and members are encouraged to invite their non-TBC friends and acquaintances, of any denomination! The event will be catered, with hors d'oeuvres, Kosher-style food, and vegetarian options. The cost will be $36 for adults and children 11 years old and over, children under 10 are free.

Wilton 's Syrian Refugee Family Getting Settled 

Wi-ACT's 32-member Steering Committee is pleased to report that things have been moving along very well for our family in the first two weeks following their arrival on March 10th!

The young widow mother, Manal, has continued to be everything we expected - and more - and she and her children should be the poster family for refugee resettlement! They are so appreciative of everything that has been done. The house looks absolutely magnificent and has been very well cared for notwithstanding the number of young people in it. Additional work on childproofing and other improvements have been done by Wi-ACT's Construction subcommittee under the leadership of Sonny Kern. Government interface subcommittee Chair Madeleine Wilken reports that the various government registrations with Social Security and CT Dept. of Social Services have now been completed. Students preparing for their Bat and Bar Mitzvahs are encouraged to complete a project profile so that information about their project can be posted on the TBC website. (Click here to view the project proflie form).

Please note that before you complete this form, you must submit your mitzvah project proposal to Rabbi Bearman.

Join Anti-Defamation League of Connecticut for an incredible evening with Megan and Grace Phelps-Roper. A rare behind-the-scenes look at two young women's journey from being on the front lines of the Westboro Baptist Church's hate-filled protests against the Jews, the LGBT community, members of the military and others, to escaping the Church and becoming allies against hate.  More information here.

Salam Neighbor, 2015 Documentary, April 7
 
Salam Neighbor is a film and campaign to connect the world to refugees. Immerse into the life of a Syrian refugee through the journey of Chris and Zach as the first filmmakers allowed to be registered and given a tent inside of a refugee camp.

There will be a screening of Salam Neighbor on Thursday, April 7th at 7 p.m. at the Wilton Historical Society with a discussion of the Syrian refugee crisis following the screening moderated by Amy Fallas-Kerr, the producer and interviewer for the film crew.  View the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6SxPSZVD9o
