HARVEST OF HOPE
SATURDAY SEPT 17TH
Dinner and Auction to benefit the EGFBS Building Fund.
WITH GRATITUDE...
Executive Director Marie Jachino
Let me start by saying, THANK YOU! What you have done this past year by supporting Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS) has been truly monumental. In the last twelve months we distributed 1.9 million pounds of food to hungry individuals in the region. Never before has the face of hunger been so unpredictable and so varied, especially among our senior population.

We are humbled by your support that enables us to serve over 4,000 people every month. EGFBS is a place for everyone who wishes to help. By volunteering your time and skills, donating food or funds, conducting a food drive, becoming an advocate, gleaning, growing an extra row of vegetables, or supporting a fundraising event...the opportunities are endless!

Please come by the Food Bank for a visit. We would love you to see our work in action and our amazing, dedicated volunteers. These committed individuals who give so generously of their time, talent and most all, their compassion make our work possible.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THE BIG DAY OF GIVING
Starting at midnight on May 3rd, the Sacramento region will come together for one BIG Day of Giving - a 24 hour giving challenge that lifts up lives and makes this the place we call home. In its third year, the BIG Day of Giving has raised nearly $9 million for nonprofits serving our region. Join our community on May 3rd for a celebration of philanthropy and put your money where your heart is!

CALFRESH OUTREACH AVAILABLE AT ELK GROVE FOOD BANK SERVICES
The CalFresh (Food Stamps) program helps millions of low-income Californians have access to healthier and affordable foods. However, there are millions of Californians who qualify for this program but are not yet enrolled.   Until recently, residents in and around Elk Grove have had to drive long distances to apply for CalFresh benefits or to get help with the on-line process.

Elk Grove Food Bank is proud to announce that we are now able to assist everyone with the application process, answer general questions about the program, and follow up with what can sometimes be a complicated process.  Clients can come in to the Dino Drive offices, or call the CalFresh Coordinator for information and assistance with the application process.
