Greetings Cascade Family and Friends,

I know that those who shared in the 11:15 a.m. worship on Palm Sunday will agree with me: It was an awesome experience! Without a doubt, the heavens opened up right above us and all could feel the presence of God. Cascade, we were tremendously blessed to witness thirty-three (33) phenomenal, young people say "YES" to our invitation to them to join us as full members. The commitment to time, in order to get to Confirmation Sunday--approximately six months--proves that they are serious about becoming members. During the process, we have gotten to know them better and they have gotten to know us, the denomination, and GOD better. The United Methodist approach to membership and inclusion of our children and youth is one of the reasons I am glad to be a United Methodist. A resounding applause and THANK YOU to Pastor Robert King, Christal Stills, Cheryl Jones, the supporting team, and others who would just rather remain unnamed. Be assured, we see you and God sees you, too. Your good work speaks for you.

Also, during this confirmation process, we made some promises to these, our NEWEST MEMBERS. We promised to continue to nurture and develop them in the Faith. We promised to continue to offer them opportunities for personal growth through experience and practice. Parents, I want you to know how much we appreciate you and your love for Cascade UMC. We certainly want to continue to partner with you in your child's spiritual development.

Cascade, now is the time when WE MUST do more to enhance the experiences of our YOUTH! God has given us a tremendous gift. They are our youth, our children. Pray with me as we seek new ideas and answers about how God wants to lead us in our service to our young. Please know that this is important to the life of our Church.
