Dear PetConnect Rescue Friend,

Happy Spring, and thank you for being a part of Petconnect Rescue! The seasons are changing, but one thing remains the same, the animals who need us. With the warmer weather, comes the baby cats and dogs. Soon puppy and kitten season will be in full swing. Our shelter partners will be inundated with these unwanted little ones and begging for our help. How can you make an impact, you might ask? When talking to fellow animals lovers, please remind them of the importance of spaying and neutering. How can the PCR family help?... Please read the story below.

Baby Showers for Ruby & Shamrock

Almost simultaneously, PCR received pleas for help from two of our shelter partners. Ruby's ( pictured above) owner moved out. Because he still had furniture left in the home, neighbors thought he was coming back. Sadly, Ruby's owner never returned for her. She was left scared, alone and pregnant.  Since he didn't know what else to do with this sweet dog, the neighbor contacted our partner in Pickens, SC. In turn, our friends in Picken's County reached out to us. Ruby is due to give birth in about 2 weeks and will arrive into PCR foster care on March 26th.
Shamrock (pictured below) was brought to the shelter in Kinston, NC.  Her owners took her there because she was pregnant and they did not want to keep her or her future kittens. She gave birth the next day. PCR received the plea for help, and Shamrock and her little family arrived to us on Thursday.
These two stories are examples of all the assistance that is needed this time of the year.  To help our fosters care for these mommas in the best way possible, we are throwing Ruby and Shamrock a virtual baby shower!   If you would like to participate, please follow this link to our Amazon Wish List and send either one or both of them a gift.

We will also be running a Spring T-shirt Booster campaign to support all of the moms and babies that we know will be needing our help. STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION!

Reiki Workshop
Offered at Muddy Paws Farm
Saturday, May 7, 2016 from  11am - 2:00pm

REIKI is a system of balancing life force energy - Body, Mind, and Spirit. It is believed to be thousands of years old but was rediscovered in Japan during the late 1800's and brought to the Western Hemisphere during the mid-1900's. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. This beginning Reiki class includes Chakra balancing, cleansing the energy field, hands on healing for self, others, pets, and plants.  The purpose of the workshop is to teach participants how to use Reiki to create a sense of well-being for themselves and their pets.  The majority of the class is hands on. After the first hour of instruction, attendees will be practicing Reiki on themselves, each other, and, most importantly, the animals.

This presentation will be conducted by PCR friend, Ms. Lee Bowers. Lee is a clinical health psychologist and has been a Reiki Master for over 20 years, practicing in Villanova.  She has taught hundreds of people Reiki, including nurses and physicians, physical and massage therapists, and people just wanting to learn the techniques for themselves and their families, including their four legged family members.

Space is limited for the workshop. Adults only.
If you are interested in participating,
please sign up here.
