The official e-newsletter of St. Andrew's Episcopal School Alumni
March 2016

Dear Alumni Community,

Happy Spring! The daffodils have bloomed on Postoak Road and we're ready to welcome the warm weather, new sports seasons, and of course Spring Break.

While the foliage and flora are transitioning, so is the
St. Andrew's campus and community. The Student Center construction is well underway and will be open when school begins this fall, our Alumni Magazine is in the works with a fresh, new look, and planning has begun for Alumni Weekend and Reunions, featuring new events and programming for Alumni of all ages and their families. Save the Date for  October 15!

Additionally, in this newsletter you will find an exciting opportunity to honor one of St. Andrew's most beloved, founding faculty members, Joanne Beach.

All the best for a wonderful and exciting Spring!

Best,
Madeline Wallace O'Brien '05

Honoring Joanne Beach,  a letter from
John McMillen
Dear Alumni:

Every student that attended St. Andrew's from 1978 to 2012 was affected by the work and commitment of one extraordinary individual. During her tenure at the school, Joanne Beach served as science teacher, Head of Upper School, Director of Student Activities, Dean of Students, and Alumni Liaison. She put students at the center of her life for more than 34 years, and she continues to be a cherished member of our community.

I am reminded of Joanne, my longtime friend and mentor, as St. Andrew launches the public phase of its Students at the Center Campaign. Among the campaign's goals is the funding of a new 43,000-square-foot Student Center, which will have a transformative effect on student life.

I hope you will plan to join me when we gather in this new facility on October 15, 2016 for what will surely be the largest reunion in school history! As part of the celebration, we will take time in the program to honor and celebrate Joanne Beach.

It is the goal of a small but growing group of alumni and long-time faculty to raise enough money by Reunion 2016 to claim one of the campaign's naming opportunities to honor Joanne. Our hope is to raise $150,000 to dedicate the Joanne Beach Front Circle. The school's trustees would like to assist us in reaching this goal. They will match any alumnus gift pledged from now until October 2016.

Please consider your own gift to honor Joanne and make the Joanne Beach Front Circle a reality. All gifts and pledges are payable over 5 years. For more information about the Students at the Center Campaign, please see this video or contact Madeline O'Brien for a personal tour of the facility under construction.

Sincerely,
John McMillen

Fund-A-Scholar Gala Online Auction!

The Gala is the school's largest fundraiser for Financial Aid. The online auction offers great deals on gifts, restaurants, entertainment and more closing at 10pm on 3/22.
