"In ancient times our Ancestors drank Yaj
é.
During their intoxication they saw in vision the Maoma red toad. Inebriated with Yaj
é
,
they stared at him and saw that he transmitted energy
and was a receptacle for the spirits.
He looked like a person, dwelling in a big house.
There he sang the songs of the Sun.
The Ancestors saw that in their visions.
The more they stared at him, the more beautiful their
Yaj
é
teacher songs became."

When we say "sacred", and "primordial" places, we mean it. Hornoyaco, for instance, is renowned among indigenous people for its oil and gas exploration "magical repellent" properties...Before it became a protected zone, every single time a gas and/or oil exploration company tried to survey the remote jungle area where the waterfall is located, there were inevitably very heavy downpours and/or thunderstorms which have prevented those companies to carry out their intended drilling projects. The spirits protecting the waterfall managed to keep those companies at bay, until the whole area became officially protected.
