 AARP Tax-Aide helps low- and middle-income taxpayers file their personal income tax returns. Volunteers are trained to assist in filing the 1040 tax form and basic schedules. Taxpayers with complex tax returns are advised to seek paid tax assistance.

Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered.  E-filing ensures a more accurate tax return and faster processing of tax refunds.

2016 Neighborhood Clean-up Applications 

Applications must be submitted by January 25
It's time to submit applications for the 2016 Neighborhood Clean-up program.  If you have never applied before, all of the information is included in the application packet.  Click here to access.  The application is also available on the City's website www.wichita.gov under the "documents" section on each City Council Member page.

Out of school?  Get into our camp!  Don't stress with what to do with the kids during those in-service days! Linwood Recreation Center provides licensed and supervised day care for children ages 6-13.
 
Cost is $18 per day, per child and hours are from 7:00 am-6:00 pm. Program includes an AM & PM snack (participant must bring own lunch & drink); organized activities including gym games, crafts, Bingo, board games, and much more. 
 
Enrollment is limited to 45 campers on a first come first serve basis.  Special paperwork is required and must be completed prior to the start of camp.  Call Linwood to register.  DCF EBT card accepted.

Looking for something to do on those mild winter days or evenings? Chapin Park is a great place to go! The entire  family including the dog will find something enjoyable here. This regional park encompasses a 190 acre area at Hydraulic and MacArthur. This park features a fenced in area where your dog can play, a mountain bike trail, a 6' wide gravel walking trail as well as a model airplane flying area.

Did you know that there is a WATER museum located in District III? The WATER Center is located at 101 E. Pawnee. Take a tour and learn about the history of the Gilbert-Mosley groundwater remediation project, reuse of the treated water, native Kansas fish, aquatic wildlife, pollution prevention and much more. The hours are 1:00 PM-4:30PM Monday, Wednesday & Friday additional times are available by appointment.

Home Improvement program h
as funding available for income qualified homeowners  
 
The Housing and Community Services Department's Home Improvement Prog ram now has funding available for interest-free, forgivable deferred payment loans of up to $5,000 for income-qualified (60% of median) owner-occupant homeowners.  Loans are provided for emergency needs, such as furnaces, water heaters, sewer lines, water lines, electrical system repairs and plumbing repairs.  Loans are also provided for minor home repair needs for senior citizens, age 62 and older.  Property taxes must be current.
