The Own Home Program recently received a grant for $450,000 to use for utility assistance. This is the most we have ever received from this funder in an initial award, and a testament to the great work that our Own Home staff do every day. This kind of windfall is also a blessing to our clients, as it means that we'll be able to serve hundreds of individuals, many of whom would not normally fit within program guidelines.

Special thanks to James Pence and Chad Wick, owners of Bar: PM who planned and hosted a fundraiser to benefit DOORWAYS as a part of the bar's one-year anniversary. Meet Our New Teammates
Maria Baker, Cook, is originally from Maine but has spent the last 23 years learning her trade by working under talented and respected chefs in the Saint Louis area. Her philosophy is that food is a universal language that expresses love and compassion to those for whom it is prepared.
Maria has two daughters and enjoys music, reading and cooking. She says she is very happy to be working at DOORWAYS and enjoys her job immensely.

Volunteers assist paid staff by working to increase the quality of life for our clients and residents. All volunteers receive HIV education and the chance to give their time, energy, experience and skills to benefit people affected by HIV/AIDS.
