Telluride Association Summer Program

Program Description
:
Telluride Association Summer Program is a six-week educational experience for high school juniors that offers challenges and rewards rarely encountered in secondary school or even college. Each program is designed to bring together young people from around the world who share a passion for learning. Telluride students, or TASPers, attend a seminar led by college and university scholars and participate in many other educational and social activities outside the classroom.

Program Description
: Do you have a passion for improving your community? Turn that passion into action and leadership. Work in an 8- week paid internship at a local non-profit, charitable organization. Gain a wide range of experiences in the professional world and come to understand the important impact that charitable organizations have on the community. In addition to this 8-week paid internship in Houston, Student Leaders attend a week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC to gain valuable civic, social and business leadership skills.

British American Foundation of Texas Junior Achievers Program

Program Description
:
The BAFTX Junior Achievers award program is aimed to provide an international exchange summer experience for academically adept students from low-income families in the Houston and surrounding areas. The recipient of this program award is invited to attend a two to four-week British Studies Summer Program held at the American Community School in London, England. Students gain a wide range of valuable experiences, including the ability to adapt to a new culture, a deeper appreciation for English history and culture, as well as college-success values and skills.

: The Academy for Rising Leaders is a 5-day intensive summer program that brings together rising high school seniors in Texas for an unforgettable leadership development experience. SUBIENDO was created at The University of Texas at Austin to prepare new leaders to address the needs of the next generation, including a growing Hispanic population that has become the largest and youngest minority group in the United States. Participants have an opportunity to problem solve real-world issues with today's top business and political names, focusing particularly on the growing Hispanic population in Texas and the country. Students work on projects in non-traditional classrooms and career settings.

Blue Stamp Engineering is an intensive 6 week program that teaches motivated high school students to perform hands on engineering. Blue Stamp Engineering students build projects they are passionate about - from concept to prototype. Similar to a real world technology setting, students' products are built stepwise with achievable milestones. BSA sessions include short discussions based on where the students are in their build process. Students are given ample time to work on their projects, supported by hands on instruction from the lead instructor and teaching assistants. Finally, students are pushed to think about how their products could thrive in the real-world market and how, as engineers, they can influence important developments in our society.

BlueStamp Engineering: 2 Week Program

BSE offers a two-week introductory program. This program is intended to provide students with basic project building skills. SImilar to the 6-week program, students will select which projects they want to build and build them individually. The projects completed in the 2-week program are less complex than the 6-week program, but still allow students hands-on experience with design and execution of engineering plans.

The Clark Scholar Program is an intensive seven week summer research program for highly qualified high school juniors and seniors. The Program at Texas Tech University helps the Scholars to have a hands-on practical research experience with outstanding and experienced faculty. The Scholars will receive a $750 tax-free stipend and room and board. The Program includes fun activities, weekly seminars and field trips. This Program provides opportunities for research in all academic areas in the university.

Bezos Scholars Program

The Bezos Scholars Program invites 12 of the country's top juniors to the Aspen Institute's Annual Ideas Festival. Here, Bezos Scholars meet visionaries from around the globe - international leaders, acclaimed thinkers, creative artists, bold entrepreneurs - and engage in seminars, tutorials, informal meetings, and debates. It's a time of great discovery and intellectual stimulation that leads to the second phase of the program which begins when Scholars return to their campus and are provided with the opportunity to apply for financial support to execute a local Ideas Festival at their school campus. Students involved develop the highest level of civic duty, leadership awareness, and more.

American Youth Leadership Program

Program Description
: American Youth Leadership participants study community development, civic engagement, and leadership theories and practice through a four-week International training. During their International Training, participants learn about and engage with Ecuadorian history and culture through host family stays, service work with US and Ecuadorian peers, and visits to cultural and historic sites. Participants receive hands on experience in the design and omplementation of Community-Based Initiative (CBI). After returning home from the International Training, each participant carries out a CBI in his/her home community.
