Worship with us this Sunday!

Please consider bringing a BREAD OF THE WORLD...We'd like to feel the connection with cultures from around the globe. Please bake or purchase a bread from elsewhere and bring it to the communion table by 9:15am/10:45am. Thank you!

It's World Communion Sunday! Join us for Traditional Worship at 9:30am with our good friends from Mar Thoma (stlmarthoma.org) who have been worshiping in our Historic Sanctuary for over six years. We celebrate World Communion Sunday together each year. You will be blessed by their choir and ours...by their liturgy and ours...by scripture shared in Mayalayam and in English. You don't want to miss this opportunity.

The celebration of World Communion Sunday continues with our Informal Worship at 11:00am where our scriptures are Job 1:1, 2:1-10 and Psalm 26 with a sermon entitled In the Land of Uz. There are challenges that Job's story brings with it - blessing and curse. Job points to the rollercoaster nature of life - good and bad things happen. How do we deal with them? What does God have to say about this?

It's a Give-A-Meal Sunday...so please bring gifts of non-perishable food items for local hungry people.

We will also kick-off our Winter Accessories Drive this Sunday... have you noticed the chilly mornings?

Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach.

Joke
A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class  memorize one
of the most quoted passages in the Bible: Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters  a month to learn the chapter.

Little Rick was excited about the task - but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.

On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the
congregation, Ricky was so nervous.  When it was his turn, he stepped up  to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's  all I need to  know."
