Rules of the Road by Joan Bauer
In honor of Women's History Month, we highlight Joan Bauer's Rules of the Road, a story about sixteen-year-old Jenna, who gets a job driving the elder owner of a chain of successful shoe stores from Chicago to Texas to confront the son who is trying to force her to retire. Along the way, Jenna hones her talents as a saleswoman and finds the strength to face her alcoholic father.

The Congressional Foster Youth Shadow Program is an all-expenses paid opportunity for young people with personal experience in the foster care system to spend time with their Congressional representative, as well as White House officials, in Washington, D.C. Summer Teen Internship Program 2016
Generations United member,
DOROT, has a Summer Teen Internship Program, which offers two four-week sessions for high school students to be of service to older adults. Eligible applicants are students entering 10th grade through graduating seniors. Through a competitive process, they choose up to 18 interns for each session.
