Patricia Egan Jones (D-5)

In this month's installment of our "Meet the New Legislator" series, we feature former Camden County Surrogate Patricia Egan Jones, a Democrat who represents the 5th legislative district in Camden and Gloucester counties.  Jones received the oath of office from Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto on November 9th, 2015, to become a member of the New Jersey General Assembly. She replaced Assemblyman Angel Fuentes, who resigned from his seat in June to become deputy clerk in Camden County.

Asw. Patricia Egan Jones (D-5)
Jones, who served as Camden County Surrogate from 2001-2015, previously served as Camden County Freeholder (1998-2000) and as a Councilwoman (1996-1998) in her hometown of Barrington, New Jersey.

She served as chief of staff to the late Senator Walter Rand, who represented the 5th legislative district for two decades, and as chief of staff to former State Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts, Jr., who also represented the 5th district. Jones also worked as liaison to the Department of Public Safety and Juvenile Justice.

 Gov. Chris Christie Proclaims

Athletic Trainer Recognition Week

When it comes to the prevention, recognition and care of sports-related injuries, trainers are often athletes' primary points of contact both on and off the field. They aid athletes before, during and after games and practices, and they are often the first to respond when an athlete is injured.

In recognition of the tremendous service and support provided by athletic trainers all year round, the Kaufman Zita Group helped the Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey (ATSNJ) secure a Governor's Proclamation designating March 6th through March 12th, 2016, as "Athletic Trainer Recognition Week."

In his proclamation, Gov. Christie commended New Jersey's athletic trainers on their commitment to provide excellent health care for individuals participating in strenuous physical exercise, physical conditioning or a sport, and recognized athletic trainers' skilled efforts in educating the community on methods and techniques to decrease the occurrence of injuries in their athletic pursuits.

The Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey consists of licensed athletic trainers, athletic training students, physicians and other allied health care professionals and strives to ensure that athletes receive the best health care possible.
