Toddler Time
Thursday, March 10, 10- 11 am
  
Toddler Time members will meet for an hour of fun.  Activities include crafts, music, free play and reading a story.The program is currently full. Contact the Library if you would like to be added to the waiting list. Toddler Time is for children up to 30 months of age with a parent or caregiver.  
Property Tax Appeal Workshop
Thursday, March 10, 6:30- 8 pm
  
The Community Outreach Office of the Witherspoon Law Group will conduct a free workshop to show property owners how to file a Property Tax Appeal. The workshop will explain
  • how to appeal and win your tax appeal,
  • added and omitted assessments,
  • how revaluations affect your taxes.

The workshop will also cover all tax deductions available to homeowners including senior deductions, veteran deductions, and spousal deduction of veterans. The program is free and open to public.

Movie Matinee: Oscars At The Library
Friday, March 11 & 18, 2- 4:30 pm
  
Cresskill Library is showing film series highlighting movies nominated for 2016 Oscars, on Fridays at 2 pm. The movie license is sponsored by the Friends of Cresskill Library and the program is free of charge. Please stop by at the library or call 201-567-3521 for movie title information.
A Picture And A Poem
                                 Monday, March 14 at 6 pm
           
Browse the exhibits of artists and poet Molly Frederick and Shirley McPhillips and share a poem in their guest book.
  
Molly Frederick began painting and making wood pieces 15 years ago, her background includes magazine editing and the writing of hundreds of poems.
  
Shirley McPhillips was a classroom teacher for many years and her poems have found homes in many journals. In addition to writing, Shirley paints watercolors, travels, sings sixteen century music and walks with nature.
Coloring Club @ Cresskill Library
Tuesday, March 15 & 29 at 2 pm 
  
It's time to kick back, relax and be a kid again! The group is open to anyone who enjoys coloring for relaxation or creative expression. It meets twice a month, every other Tuesday. The library provides coloring pages and color pencils but you are welcome to bring your own. Come and have some fun!
Author Visit - Ghizela Altman
                                   Wednesday, March 16 at 7 pm     
                       
Stop by at Cresskill Library for Author Talk and book Signing by Ghizela Altman, also known as Jackie. She was born in 1933 in Romania, in a little town called Podu-Turcului, which translates into "The Bridge of the Turks" and came to America in 1980. Altman has endured the Nazi Occupation, followed by the Liberation by the Russian Communist Party, and finally having to wait 12 years to emigrate to her homeland of Israel. Much like the title of her autobiography, "Calatori", which translates into "Travelers", she has indeed made a wonderful adventure while traveling and navigating the waves of her life. It is her hope that Calatori will inspire others to always keep moving forward and stay on their path in life.
Cooking Club @ Cresskill Library
Thursday, March 17 at 6 pm 
  
Introducing a NEW Club for patrons who love to cook or want to try new recipes. The Cooking Club meets on Third Thursday of every month. Each member can borrow a copy of the selected book, pick a recipe and prepare the dish at home; enough so every member gets to try it. Library will provide paper goods, cutlery and microwave to warm the food. Come, try new cuisines, make friends and have a good time. Stop by the library to pick your copy of the book - Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime by Ree Drummond.
NJ Makers Day
                                Saturday, March 19, 10am- 3pm  
                    
Join Us for the Second Annual NJ Makers Day at Cresskill Public Library. The library will offer demonstrations and opportunities for hands on learning with variety of technologies including Snap Circuits, Watercolorbot, The Finch Robot, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Breadboards, BeagleBone, Meccano Personal Robot, Scratch and a Button Maker. Thanks Applebees for their generous donation which helped us purchase more equipment for Makers Day. Stop by the library to get a taste of the exciting world of maker culture!

Cresskill Library will host an interactive and informative workshop that will show you what it takes to strategically prepare your home for sale so that you can make the most money possible, quickly, with the least amount of stress. Whether you are downsizing, rightsizing or just thinking about moving, join us to get inspired to do all the work upfront before the "For sale" sign goes on the lawn.
The workshop is presented by Bernadette Flaim, home staging specialist, Jean Marie Herron, professional organizer and Robert Funabashi, Realtor. They will share their decades of experience in helping homeowners prepare their properties for sale so they sell faster leaving nothing on the table.

Four computer tabletops for public use were recently replaced. Thank you to Cresskill DPW for installing and Friends of Cresskill Library for funding them.
Technology Drop-In
  
The Technology Drop-In program with Tech Savvy Teens from Academy of the Holy Angels (Demarest) is available again at Cresskill Library. Contact the library at 201-567-3521 for dates and times and to reserve your space for one-on-one technology guidance!
Help Us Help Others by Funding New Computers
The Cresskill Public Library has been designated as a "Job Seeker Library" by the New Jersey State Library. Our staff is able to help others find job listings through the use of specialty databases, help with writing resumes and fill online job application including setting up an email account.
  
Please support our efforts to outfit the library with new computers. Your generosity is truly appreciated and your donations will go far to help the community! 
  
Museum Passes
The Friends of the Cresskill Library have sponsored the purchase of passes for the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum AND Museum of the City of New York. With these passes, Cresskill Library card holders are able to gain free access to the museums for another year. Thanks, Friends!.
