THIS WEEK'S SCRIPTURE
PASTOR'S BLOG
Greetings Cascade Family and Friends,

I would like to share a simple life message that came to me during my devotion time several weeks ago. The message emphatically simply said, "Give God Time." It continues to linger in my spirit.  These three words came to me at a time when I needed to hear them, and they came directly to me from God.  Because you may be at the same point of need, I decided to share them with you.  Please take time and hear them.  "Give God Time."  "Give God Time."

I tell you, this message lifted my spirit.  It was insistent and caused me to immediately receive a dual message.  On the one hand, I was in the midst of stressing about something that was not going as smoothly or happening as quickly as (I wanted or thought) it should be.  I know I am not the only one who starts to go down a path, or is committed to a project, and runs into a stall.  And, instead of backing up, being still, and waiting for the bump to smooth over, I go into overload. I become resolute in my efforts to "make something happen" now.  Well, in that moment, I heard God speaking to me clearly saying, "If you WAIT on me, I will make it happen, but only in my time and not yours."  Wow, I needed to be reminded that God really is the one in charge and I should always approach every situation with the commitment to "Give God Time!"

Conversely, my spirit was stirred by the message to "Give God (your) Time."  In other words, in the midst of being busy, and getting it done, I need to stop and spend some time with God.  Oh my God, how I needed that wake-up call when it came to my life!  Spending time with God has always been important to me.  I grew up knowing that time alone with God is necessary for a faithful Christian journey.  Too often, however, I shift to my "make-it-happen-now" mode.  In those times, God takes a back seat at my invitation.  Not good!

So, my family and friends, the message is simple and clear:  Be intentional about how you relate to God in ALL things.  Remember to "Give God Time." Listen to His voice. Trust in His promises.  Then, watch God give you the joy and peace and victory that only comes from Him.  To God Be The Glory!!!

Blessings,
Pastor Lawrence L. Young
