Driving Question: How can we as non-profit developers create and campaign green energy machines so that nations suffering from energy poverty have access to clean electricity?

As part of their cohort project, students in Ms. Finberg's ninth grade engineering class have been hard at work developing hydroelectric and wind turbine systems as part of their current PBL.  In Ms. Skinner's English class they will be creating the marketing campaign as the non-profit developers working on the system.
BSEE Technology Competition

Energy Institute High School was invited to send four teams to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement's First Annual High School Technology Competition last week.  The competition took place at the University of Houston's Field House.  The competition was incredible!  Our teams participated in circuit building challenges, head to head competitions, team quizzes, and heard from Astronaut Mike Foreman.  The morning competition concluded with a completed circuit used to charge their helicopter for afternoon flight simulation competition.  The day ended with a closing ceremony announcing Energy Institute High school as the overall second place winner and Team Electrix as the second place team in the individual competition! The Electrix took home a $2,000 award! We are extremely excited about this competition and can't wait to take part in the event next year!  Great job by all Energy Institute participants!
