Spring!
It's raining, the Yampa is flowing and we
can't stop thinking about water! Water is flowing, and we've
got a very water-focused month ahead from ReTree
Steamboat to Water Week!
We are excited to partner with Leadership Steamboat and
Friends of the Yampa on Water Week from May 25th through
the 30th. From our Talking Green event on the 26th to
discussions, parties and the River Festival, there will be
more than 5 events that week that highlight and celebrate
the Yampa and our local watershed.
ReTree Steamboat also has a water theme this year. All of our planting locations are near water this year! At Hayden's Dry Creek Park, Stagecoach State Park, and along the Yampa River at the Chuck Lewis State Wildlife Area, the plantings will help beautify and restore native trees around these waterways.
Let's appreciate our wet weather this month and appreciate WATER all month long.

NORTHWEST COLORADO WATER WEEK
Talking Green: Update on the Colorado Water Plan
Tuesday, May 26, 5:30pm at McKnights Irish Pub and Loft
685 Marketplace Plaza, Steamboat Springs
with Jay Gallagher and Jackie Brown
Northwest Colorado Water Week kicks off with YVSC's May Talking Green.
People love Colorado: Our population has ballooned from 1 million in 1930 to over 5 million today and is projected to grow even faster in the future.
So how do we ensure that we are able to preserve what we know and love about our state alongside population growth? When it comes to our water, Colorado's Water Plan has answers. This plan offers a strategic vision: a productive economy that supports vibrant and sustainable cities, productive agriculture, a strong environment, and a robust recreation industry.
