Issue 78
Summer is in full swing!

Tubing on the river, free concerts at the ski jump, mountain biking amazing trails, family picnics on the lake--you name it, we're outside enjoying it.

Everything we do at YVSC supports the environment we all cherish and enjoy. All of your support--funding and volunteer hours--goes toward making sure we can continue to do that. Help preserve what we all love about Steamboat in the summertime (and the rest of the year) by making a donation of your time or financial resources to YVSC today.

We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and continue to enjoy our precious outdoors all summer long.

As always, thanks for helping to make life in the Yampa Valley more sustainable!

Paint recycling law in effect - July 1

PaintCare does soft launch of recycling program thru summer

It will soon be more convenient than ever to recycle paint in Colorado. Since the start of the Colorado paint stewardship program on July 1, 2015, PaintCare has set up 49 drop-off sites in Colorado where the public can take unwanted, leftover paint for recycling. Most of these sites are at paint retailers (paint, hardware, and home improvement stores) that have volunteered to take back paint, and they are available to any household and business in Colorado. These stores accept paint whenever they are open for business.

Local paint retailers are joining this program and will soon be available to accept your paint. Use the online location finder to identify drop-off retailers near you.
http://www.paintcare.org/drop-off-locations/

IMPORTANT: Before bringing your paint to any drop-off site, be sure to call to check business hours and to make sure they can accept the types and amount of paint you would like to recycle.
