Chapters, NEO A&M College, and the Miami Arts and Humanities Council invite you to join us on 
April 22nd for an evening of 
Sarah, Sushi and Sweets 
in Honor of National Poetry Month!


 
First, Sushi... Prior to Sarah Kay's performance, Sodexo Food Services will offer a Sushi Night for students and the public, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Student Union Cafeteria. Guests will be presented with several options for sampling sushi, starting at $10. As always, a drink, salad bar, pasta line and dessert bar will be included.
 
Next, Sarah... S arah Kay, a world renowned Spoken Word Poet, will perform at 7:00 p.m. in the Bruce C. Carter Student Union.   Kay is also a bestselling author, TED Talks sensation and the founder of Project V.O.I.C.E., an organization dedicated to using spoken word poetry as an educational tool. Her 2011 TED Talk entitled "If I Should Have a Daughter" has garnered over 9 million views. The event is free and open to the public. Kay will conduct a book signing after her performance and two of her bestselling published works, B and The Type, will be available to purchase for $12.00 each.  
 
Finally, Sweets... We invite you to stay for a reception in honor of Chapter's annual National Poetry Month initiative and NEO's first in our Distinguished Lecture Series. Coffee and sweets will be served in the Student Union Regents' Room immediately following the performance.
