Some say it as if the two of them may have been separated at birth. Two friends with similar values, approaches, and style. In many ways, they are seen as being essentially interchangeable. They are the friends behind How to Make and Keep Friends.
Over a decade ago, Nadine contacted Donna to enroll her daughter, Megan, who has Down syndrome, in Donna's friendship program. Upon meeting each other, it didn't take long for these two to realize how much they had in common. Both realized that they thought very similarly about many of the same topics. Nadine had created social discussion cards and was nervous to ask Donna if she would look at the cards and give her opinion. Donna readily agreed and loved the cards. At that point, they both knew that they would be working together at some point but didn't know how or when. Now, as they co-write books together, you would not be able to detect where one of them stopped writing and the other began.
After many years and many projects together, the partnership is stronger than ever. Any bumps they have encountered along the way were worked using the very same strategies that they teach kids to use.
Nadine and Donna brainstorm books and projects, get excited about each other's ideas, support each other's families, pick the other up when one is feeling down. And laugh...a lot.
The duo also have many more books and projects in the works and are as passionate as ever to help kids make and keep friends.
