Collaboration at Work
April 2016
Dear Friend,
I am writing to share some exciting news and to provide you an update on 52 Weeks of Science in Barrio Logan. Since the program's launch this past October this community program has been making great strides in building collaborations and bringing STEM activities to this underserved community. I hope you enjoy reading an update on the program's successes, which can be found at the bottom of this email.

The News: In response to the program's success and well-deserved attention, the Fleet has received an initial $25,000 grant from the Parker Foundation with a $25,000 matching challenge to increase our funding for the 52 Weeks of Science program in Barrio Logan.

The Challenge: If the Fleet is able to raise an additional $25,000 from other supporters by May 1, 2016, The Parker Foundation will donate an additional $25,000. This would mean a total of $75,000 for 52 Weeks of Science in Barrio Logan!

As a champion and supporter of the Fleet, we hope you will consider making a gift to help meet this challenge. We also hope you will spread the word to your friends and colleagues about this challenge grant. Gifts for the challenge can be made online at 52WeeksofScience.org .

I look forward to keeping you informed about the program's results and the progress toward meeting the Parker Foundation Challenge. If you need additional information about this opportunity, please contact Julie Schardin, Director of Institutional Engagement, at (619) 685-5752 or [email protected].

Thank you for considering a special gift to help the Fleet meet this challenge for the 52 Weeks of Science in Barrio Logan program.
Warm regards,
